Membership in the Woodbury Heights Fire Department

There are  Four (4) classes of membership to be known as:

 

(a).  Associate Member

(b).  Junior Fireman

(c).  Honorary Member

(d).  Social member

 

Associate Members: Associate members shall be eighteen years of age or over and of good moral character.  They shall be elected to the Association by a majority vote and shall be entitled to all privileges of the Association.

 

Junior Fireman Members: The juniors will be governed by the same rules, rights and have the same privileges as an Associate Member, including voice, with the exception of two:

 1. Will have no vote.

2. Participation in social affairs will be determined by the Senior Advisor.

 

Honorary Members: Any person may be elected to honorary membership upon unanimous consent of members present at any regular meeting.  Honorary Members shall have all privileges of membership in the Association except that of voting and shall pay no dues.

 

Social Members: Social Members shall be twenty-one years of age or older and of good moral character.  They shall be elected to the Association by a majority vote and shall be entitled to all privileges of the Club Room only  Social Members may vote on Association matters providing they adhere to the following:

 

     (a).  Attend No Less then 10 Regular Association meetings during the year for which  they plan to vote; beginning January 1st. of said year.

 

     (b).  Maintain an active role in Association Matters.

 

 

Applications for Associate Membership shall be received at a regular meeting and referred to the  membership committee.  At the next regular meeting the committee shall present the application and its recommendation.  The application shall be put to a vote of the members present.  If approved by a majority vote of the members present, the applicant shall serve a one month probationary period.  The membership committee shall again present the application with its recommendation at a regular meeting a month from the date of the first confirmation.  The application shall be put to a vote If approved by a majority vote of the members present, the applicant shall become a full member  of the Association.  If the applicant is not present, the application shall be carried over to the next meeting.  An application carried over two meetings may be returned to the applicant  by majority consent of the members present.  An applicant shall have no vote in any business of the Association.  A prior associate member of the Association may become a current member without delay if his Application for membership is unanimously approved at any regular meeting.
